Taco Salad with Homemade Taco Seasoning
Ingredients for seasoning mix:
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon garlic
4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon thyme, ground
4 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon Mexican oregano, ground
Directions:
Mix all spices in a small bowl and set aside.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lb. hamburger
1 small onion diced
3 garlic gloves, grated
2 14.5 oz fire roasted salsa style diced tomatoes in tomato puree
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons canola oil
lettuce
Shredded Cheese
Sour cream
Directions:
In a large skillet add canola oil and allow to heat up. Toss you diced onions into the frying pan and sauté until translucent. Next add the grated garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add hamburger to the onions and garlic and cook until no longer pink. Drain grease off of hamburger. Add taco seasoning all of it. Add water to skillet. Next add fire roasted salsa style tomatoes to the skillet and give it a good stir. Bring mixture to a boil and reduce to simmer. Simmer for 20 minutes. Serve over lettuce top with shredded cheese, onion, roma tomatoes and sour cream. Enjoy
